Fringe-nominated comedians and improvisors Liz Butler and Ben Jardine take on the personas of folk music’s finest, Brothers & Sons, for a 30th anniversary concert. They’ll be playing all of Brothers & Sons’ greatest hits – songs they won’t know until they play them for the first time in front of an audience!
Sit back and stomp your foot as renowned Endicott Sons and Montgomery Sons (brothers, sons, and also Sons) take you down Memory Lane, where you’ll hear many of their famous hits (all made up on the spot).
Brothers & Sons had its world premiere at Wellington’s monthly improv development showcase, Late Night Knife Fight in October 2021. Creators of the show, Liz and Ben have been making up songs together since they first met in 2019. They fell in love, and connected through their love of music, improv, and spontaneity. This is the first time the dynamic duo have take this show on the road!
Black Box Theatre is proud and excited to be a part of the first Aotearoa Tour!
Here’s a snippet of what audiences have said about their improvised musical comedy show to date…
“Butler and Jardine are two masters of musical improv whose chemistry and cleverness leap off the stage. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed an improv show more, and I’ve seen Whose Line is it Anyway? live.” – Regional News
“I could watch [Butler and Jardine] simply sit in an empty room and I would feel privileged to be there.” – Art Murmurs
